A Modern Garden Party Wedding: D & S

Finding the right Columbus wedding florist means finding someone who can take a feeling and turn it into something real. That’s exactly what happened when D & S came to us at Fiori Florals, and the wedding we designed together is one we’ll be talking about for a long time.

When they came to us, their vision was clear: a modern garden party wedding. What makes this one so special is that we were able to maintain that vision through the entire planning and design process. Every decision ran through that same filter, and that consistency is what kept the wedding day feeling cohesive from start to finish.

As Columbus wedding florists, the floral inspiration always comes first — and for this wedding, it started with antique and limelight hydrangeas. We used a significant amount of local hydrangeas throughout the entire wedding, making them the focal bloom of the day. To bring in a more modern touch, we mixed in uniquely dyed lisianthus, orchids, and amaranthus. That combination is what gave this wedding its distinct point of view.

From there, we played with soft textural velvets, mauves, and floral-patterned linens to pull the tables together. At each place setting, wooden ruffle chargers paired with a green floral plate created texture and dimension that carried the garden party aesthetic all the way down to the details. Cocktail hour was in the Greenhouse, and the bar and cocktail linens in that space created such a special moment. And the wood checkered dance floor? We are absolutely a sucker for it.

A personal touch

Here’s a detail guests would never catch: the brides bachelorette party was in Charleston, South Carolina, and the bar we selected for cocktail hour was named the Charleston. Not many might have known, but we loved that subtle connection.

This was such a fun wedding to design. The couple trusted that the day would be beautiful and run flawlessly — and because of that trust, every new idea felt exciting. When you have that kind of connection with your clients, they are going to get the absolute best out of the design team.
