And that call has to happen at some point. Twenty four hours out is the sweet spot. Close enough that the forecast is actually reliable, far enough out that it allows for any major adjustments to happen. There are instances where we can wait longer to make that decision. For example a simple ceremony design, but at some point the decision will need to be made.
What Waiting Too Long Actually Costs You
Vendors are used to adjusting on the fly. Your florist, your caterer, your DJ, they will all figure it out once everyone is on site. That’s not really the issue. The issue is what happens before that, while you’re getting ready, on the morning of your wedding.
Couples who put off the decision until the last possible second don’t get more relief. They just get less sleep and more radar refreshing. Instead of getting ready with your people, you’re staring at a weather app trying to will a green blob to move. That’s not a good use of the one morning you get to celebrate your soon-to-be marriage with your loved ones.
When a decision can be made with enough notice, your backup plan will be equally as beautiful as your original location.
